Boston, Massachusetts — Woodard & Curran’s Pete Bernard has received the 2010 Massachusetts Operator Award from the New England Water Environment Association. Bernard is the Chief Operator at the Wheaton College wastewater treatment plant, which Woodard & Curran contract operates. The award is given annually to “an individual who has shown a high interest and performance in wastewater operations and has made a significant contribution to the wastewater field.”

Bernard has worked in the wastewater treatment field for more than 25 years. He is currently the sole full time operator at Wheaton College’s aging treatment facility. Bernard has implemented a range of capital and operational improvements that greatly improved plant performance, helping it meet difficult permit limits despite aging infrastructure.

Woodard & Curran is a 550-person, integrated engineering, science, and operations company serving clients locally and nationwide.
