Why I Do What I Do
"I’ve always been motivated by the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and to problem solve – listening to clients, understanding the market conditions that drive their needs, and then delivering solutions that take care of the concerns they have today and that position them for tomorrow. When you have the chance to see all that we do nationwide you understand the firm’s ability to sustain growth, provide a rewarding work environment for our employees, and make a significant impact in the world we share."
Why I Work at Woodard & Curran
"At Woodard & Curran we believe in hiring the right people and empowering them to serve their clients, and that approach is the ideal match for me. While I can engage in the details when necessary, I believe providing people with clear expectations and proper resources allows me to step back and watch them succeed. It’s the way I was brought up and it’s the way this firm works. With confidence in our people, first class resources to do the job, and steady communication, we can accomplish great things."
Project Highlights
Contract Operations, Keefe Environmental Services Superfund Site Groundwater Treatment Facility
Department of Environmental Services, Epping, NH
Signed in 1993, this was the firm’s first groundwater remediation operations contract win, which was the result of beating out several larger, more established competitors. We continue to operate this system and have utilized a wide range of our consulting services. Early in the project we used our hydrogeological expertise to improve their extraction system, shortening clean up time to save the client a significant amount of money. In 2005-06 we provided site closure expertise.
Contract Operations, Municipal/Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility
Anson Madison Sanitary District, ME
Booked in 1993, this was the first large contract operations win for the firm, with a value of over $1M annually. We continue to serve this client, operating its treatment facility today for less money than it cost the District in 1993. In addition to O&M, we have provided over $6M in wastewater design/capital upgrades to the plant, landfill management, expansion and permitting, and have provided overall business advice to the District. We continue to secure sole source renewals based on these years of exceptional service
Contract Operations, Industrial Waste Treatment Facility
Delta Air Lines, Atlanta GA
In 1996 we assumed O&M responsibility for Delta Air Lines’ 1-MGD industrial waste facility from another contractor who was performing poorly. We turned around the operation and have earned several awards, including Delta’s “Environmental Contractor of the Year” in 2004. The O&M contract has grown to include waste management operations. Our services have expanded over the years to include compliance services, SCADA design and implementation, and extensive engineering design work.
Contract Operations, Water Reuse/Reclamation Facility
Water Conserv II, FL
When Woodard & Curran was selected for this assignment in 1996, project revenues exceeded total revenue for the firm’s entire O&M business. Today it continues to be our largest contract operations project, contributing $5M in gross revenues yearly. A water reuse facility operated with a full-time staff of 24, it provides peak capacity of 75 MGD of treated reuse water for citrus irrigation, landscaping, and golf courses. It established Woodard & Curran in the large contract O&M market and was our first contract outside of Maine. They continue to be a great client today, having renewed for an additional 10 years in 2006.
