Why I Do What I Do
“The projects I get most excited about are ones with a strong public component. It could be developing a new water or wastewater system that helps a community maintain or grow its economic strength, or it could be reinvigorating a community asset like developing a formerly blighted part of the downtown. It is the work to build a community vision and implement the right solution that energizes me.”

Why I Work at Woodard & Curran
“One of the great things about Woodard & Curran is that we allow each person to play to his or her individual strengths, and mine is serving client needs. We never compromise when it comes to solving our clients’ problems and we are tireless in our pursuit of the right solution. For a high-energy person like me, it’s a perfect fit.”

Project Highlights

Wastewater Treatment Facility Design
Town of Vinalhaven, ME

Vinalhaven’s wastewater treatment facility design took technical, funding, and public process expertise in great abundance to design and construct a system that was supported by the community, as it had been repeatedly rejected in the past. It ended up winning the Grand Conceptor Award from ACEC of ME for its design and meeting the client’s needs. During this project, Woodard & Curran developed a great, long-lasting relationship with the community.

Brownfield Waterfront Development
City of Ellsworth, ME

This project focused on studying a section of the city that was an important part of the economic growth of the downtown area, and as a result, Woodard & Curran conceived a plan for future public/private partnerships to develop this part of the waterfront and harbor marina. A key property transferred ownership, and our work with several community leaders helped us in understanding how we could help continue the economic growth that is occurring in Ellsworth.

Wastewater/Infrastructure Engineering
Town of St. Agatha, ME

Since the early 1990s, Woodard & Curran has served the Town of St. Agatha with many of its infrastructure needs, primarily related to wastewater. We have upgraded the treatment plant and have completed four sewer extensions, with the most recent being a challenging one that involved installing a pressure sewer system, a lake crossing, and serving residents on Pelletier Island in order to continue the improvement of water quality for Long Lake. The work has all been done in a way that continues to keep user rates affordable.
